On Dec. 26 around 7:30pm by the picturesque scene on the bank of Hai River in Xichang, the Lake Moon Wetland Park built with entire industrial chain services by POWERCHINA Chengdu Engineering Corporation Limited (POWERCHINA Chengdu hereinafter) was dressed up to open. Mr. Hui Ma, Member of Standing Committee of Liangshan Prefecture CPC Committee and Secretary of Xichang Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of local government while Mr. Yanfeng He, Vice President of POWERCHINA Chengdu, delivered a speech on behave of POWERCHINA Chengdu when Mr. He Huang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board, and Mr. Yuangang Zhang, Chief Accountant, of POWERCHINA Chengdu participated in the opening ceremony.

Lake Moon Park is one of a series of comprehensive water environment renovation projects in PPP at “Three Rivers” in Xichang. Centered by the concept of entire basin management, POWERCHINA Chengdu reproduced the local cultures via waterscapes and returned river life to residents by enriching the sight scenes. By lighting up the park, the official opening of the park signified that citizen’s expectations had come true, and also showcased the blueprint that POWERCHINA Chengdu has strived to make the integration of the ecological environment into Xichang’s municipal planning so as to elevate Xichang to be an international modern central city in Panxi region. 

Aside from municipal waterscape at the Lake Moon Park, the project took on an innovative design concept in SABC (S-Safety, A-Activity, B-Beauty, and C-Clean) and included traffic engineering and lake dredging that aimed at flood control, resource utilization, water quality assurance, green space system and other issues that covered a design area of 38.14 hectares. The completion of the Project has effectively promoted the transformation of Xichang, the Moon City, from a green city to a park city and a sponge city, from a traditional water control to modern water friendly, and from river watching in the past to lake entertaining now.
