The 2020 Winter Sports Game at POWERCHINA Chengdu Engineering Corporation Limited. (POWERCHINA Chengdu hereinafter) ended successfully in January 22, 2021. Women's Soft Volleyball team of Samaranch Foundation was invited to play with the employee team of POWERCHINA Chengdu and the excellent match ignited both live and online audiences. Mr. He Huang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Xiongfei Zhao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Labor Union, Mr. Siping Liu, Committee Secretary for Discipline Inspection watched the match live and cheered for the athletes on court along with other relevant leaders of POWERCHGHINA Chengdu. Also attended were Ms. Ling Zhu, team leader of the women’s volleyball team, once national women’s volleyball player, and former Director of Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, Ms. Maoqin Ran, Party Secretary of the Provincial Red Cross Society and Executive President. 

The match began with the sound of referee’s whistle in a cordial and cheerful atmosphere.  Showing the passion of sports, the players went all out heartily and played together both offensively and defensively throughout the match while fully engaged audiences cheered on joyfully. Every lob, smash, or interception showcased their excellence and each score demonstrated wonderfulness. Tied after two matches, the Samaranch Foundation Team, composed of former Sichuan provincial women’s volleyball team as the core and with rich matching experiences, won the friendly competition with a small margin in the final match.    

The 2020 Winter Sports Game ended successfully with the soft volleyball match that day after two months of fierce competitions. Awards were present at the closing ceremony when the Team I of Design & Investigation Corporation earned the champion, Team II of Design & Investigation Corporation the Second Place, and the ECO-environmental Protection Engineering Corporation the Third Place of Soft Volleyball Game, while Team I of Headquarter Office and Human Resource Department won the First Place, Team I of Design & Investigation Corporation the Second Place, and the Investment and Operation Corporation the Third Place of Basketball Game.   

The two major games in basketball and soft volleyball attracted high interests by all participating units in this Sports Game. Each team had trained actively before the competition, every player fought tenaciously on court during each match, and all athletes strived hard to win every match. The game achieved the goal of unifying the employees by hearts and strengths, enriching employee’s cultural life, and promoting the construction of corporate spiritual civilization by letting all participants experience the happiness and joy of the sports and heath.
