Recently, the Integrated
Energy Supply Project of Qinling Station in Antarctica, which was designed in
all stages by PowerChina Chengdu(Hereinafter referred to as the Company), has
been officially put into operation. The integrated energy system is the first
large-scale green energy system with new energy as the main energy that China successfully
operates in the extreme environment of Antarctica. Qinling Station is the
fifth Antarctic research station in China, and is located in the coast of the
Ross Sea, one of the three major bay systems in Antarctica, with coordinates of
74 degrees 56 minutes south latitude and 163 degrees 42 minutes east longitude.
The integrated energy supply project includes 100 kW wind power generation, 300
kW/300 kWh low-temperature lithium battery energy storage, 80 kW cogeneration
micro-gas turbine, 3*300 kW diesel generator, 100 kW photovoltaic power
generation, microgrid energy management and other systems. Since undertaking the project, the Company's
design team has overcome the difficult problems of low temperature and high
wind speed on the site, worked hard for the research and worked closely with
Tianjin University and equipment manufacturers, and made major breakthroughs in
key technologies of energy equipment and systems, ensuring the high-quality
promotion and on-time operation of the project, which effectively ensured the
green operation of the scientific research equipment and basic living
facilities of the research station.
